Educational Q&A

The verse underscores readiness to seek dharma through rightful counsel: after devastation, restoration begins not with force but with approaching the wise elder for guidance, showing that ethical order is rebuilt through inquiry, humility, and disciplined action.

Kṛṣṇa’s chariot is prepared, and he is about to go to Bhīṣma lying nearby. This sets up the forthcoming teachings in Śānti Parva, where Bhīṣma instructs on dharma, governance, and moral duty in the aftermath of the Kurukṣetra war.
