Rāma–Jāmadagnya-janma-kāraṇa and Kṣatra-kṣaya
Paraśurāma’s origins and the depletion/restoration of kṣatriya lineages
बृहद्रथो महातेजा भूरिभूतिपरिष्कृत:
bṛhadratho mahātejā bhūribhūtipariṣkṛtaḥ
బృహద్రథుడు మహాతేజస్సుగలవాడు; అపార సంపద, రాజవైభవాలతో అలంకృతుడై ఉన్నాడు.
वासुदेव उवाच
The line foregrounds the classical epic linkage between inner potency (tejas) and outer prosperity (bhūti) in a king. It sets up a moral frame in which worldly splendor is noteworthy but typically serves as context for later reflection on dharma, restraint, and the right use of power.
Vāsudeva introduces or describes King Bṛhadratha, emphasizing his exceptional radiance and the abundance of his royal fortune—an opening characterization that prepares the listener for the subsequent account involving him.
