नाचिन्तयत् तदा शापं तेन दत्तं महात्मना । तस्य पुत्रास्तु बलिन: शापेनासन् _पितुर्वधे,अतः उसने उस समय उन महात्माके दिये हुए शापपर कोई ध्यान नहीं दिया। शापवश उसके बलवान पुत्र ही पिताके वधमें कारण बन गये
nācintayat tadā śāpaṃ tena dattaṃ mahātmanā | tasya putrās tu balinaḥ śāpenāsan pitur vadhe ||
వాసుదేవుడు పలికెను—ఆ సమయంలో ఆ మహాత్ముడు ఇచ్చిన శాపాన్ని అతడు ఏమాత్రం పట్టించుకోలేదు. కాని అదే శాపబలంతో అతని బలవంతులైన కుమారులే తండ్రి వధకు కారణమయ్యారు.
