Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the elevating power of dharma-discourse—especially mokṣa-oriented teaching—showing that reflective dialogue on liberation and right conduct brings inner ease and makes even long hardship (a whole night) feel light and auspicious.

Bhishma describes how, during his instruction to Yudhishthira in the Mokṣadharma portion of the Śānti Parva, the two continue their conversation through the night, and the time passes comfortably, as if it were daytime.
