न किलातप्ततपसा शकक््यते द्रष्टमज्जसा । “वहाँके निवासियोंके तेजसे आँखें चौंधिया जानेके कारण हम वहाँ किसी पुरुषको देख नहीं पाते थे। तदनन्तर दैवयोगसे हमारे हृदयमें यह ज्ञान प्रकट हुआ कि तपस्या किये बिना हमलोग भगवानको सुगमतापूर्वक नहीं देख सकते
na kilātaptatapasā śakyate draṣṭum ajjasā |
భీష్ముడు పలికెను—చేసిన తపస్సు లేకుండా (భగవంతుని) సులభంగా, ప్రత్యక్షంగా దర్శించుట సాధ్యం కాదు. అక్కడి నివాసుల తేజస్సు వల్ల మా కళ్ళు మిరుమిట్లు గొలిపి, ఏ పురుషునినీ మేము చూడలేకపోయితిమి; అప్పుడు దైవయోగముచేత మా హృదయములో ఈ జ్ఞానం ఉదయించెను—తపస్సు లేకుండా భగవద్దర్శనం సులభంగా లభించదు.
