श्रीभगवानुवाच अवाच्यमेतद् वक्तव्यमात्मगुहां सनातनम् | तव भक्तिमतो ब्रद्दान् वक्ष्यामि तु यथातथम्,नर-नारायणका नारदजीके साथ संवाद श्रीभगवान् बोले--ब्रह्मन! तुमने जिसके विषयमें प्रश्न किया है, वह अपने लिये गोपनीय विषय है। यद्यपि यह सनातन रहस्य किसीसे कहने योग्य नहीं है, तथापि तुम-जैसे भक्त पुरुषको तो उसे बताना ही चाहिये; अतः मैं यथार्थ रूपसे इस विषयका वर्णन करूँगा
śrībhagavān uvāca | avācyam etad vaktavyam ātmaguhāṃ sanātanam | tava bhaktimato brahman vakṣyāmi tu yathātatham ||
శ్రీభగవానుడు పలికెను—బ్రాహ్మణా! ఇది వాచ్యముకాని, ఆత్మలో దాగిన శాశ్వత గూఢరహస్యం. సాధారణంగా చెప్పదగినది కాదు. అయితే నీవు భక్తిమంతుడవు గనుక నీకు ఇది చెప్పవలసినదే. అందుచేత యథాతథంగా నేను వివరిస్తాను.
