वेदेषु निष्ठां सम्प्राप्प साड्गेष्वपि तपस्विन: । अथोचुस्ते तदा व्यासं शिष्या: प्राज्जलयो गुरुम्

వేదాలలో దృఢనిష్ఠను పొందినవారు, వేదాంగాలలోనూ నిపుణులు, శాంతచిత్తులు, ఇంద్రియనిగ్రహం కల తపస్వి శిష్యులు ఆ సమయంలో వ్యాసమునిని సమీపించారు. గురువును చుట్టుముట్టి కూర్చొని, అంజలి ఘటించి వినయంగా ఆయనను సంభోదించారు.
