Śuka’s Guṇa-Transcendence and Vyāsa’s Consolation (शुकगति-वर्णनम्)

यथा पुष्करपर्णस्थं जल॑ तत्पर्णमस्पृशत्‌ । तिष्ठत्यस्पृशती तद्वत्‌ त्वयि वत्स्यामि मैथिल,मिथिलानरेश! जैसे कमलके पत्तेपर पड़ा हुआ जल उस पत्तेका स्पर्श नहीं करता है, उसी प्रकार मैं आपका स्पर्श न करती हुई आपके भीतर निवास करूँगी

yathā puṣkaraparṇasthaṃ jalaṃ tatparṇam aspṛśat | tiṣṭhaty aspṛśatī tadvat tvayi vatsyāmi maithila mithilānareśa ||

మిథిలా నరేశా, మైథిలా! కమలపత్రంపై నిలిచిన నీరు ఆ పత్రాన్ని నిజంగా తాకనట్లే, నేను మీను తాకకుండా మీలోనే నివసిస్తాను.
