Śuka’s Guṇa-Transcendence and Vyāsa’s Consolation (शुकगति-वर्णनम्)

तथा चैते प्रदुष्यन्ति राजन्‌ ये कीर्तिता मया । तथैवास्य भयं तेभ्यो जायते पश्य यादृशम्‌,राजन! मैंने जिनका नाम लिया है, वे विद्वान्‌ और शूरवीर आदि अपने प्रति राजाकी आशंका देखकर सचमुच ही उसके प्रति दुर्भाव रखने लगते हैं और फिर उनसे राजाको जैसा भय प्राप्त होता है, उसको आप स्वयं ही समझ लें

tathā caite praduṣyanti rājan ye kīrtitā mayā | tathaivāsya bhayaṁ tebhyo jāyate paśya yādṛśam ||

భీష్ముడు పలికెను—ఓ రాజా! నేను పేర్కొన్నవారే రాజు అనుమానాన్ని తమపై చూచి చెడిపోతారు. తమపట్ల రాజుకు శంక ఉందని గ్రహించిన వెంటనే వారు నిజంగా అతనిపై వైరం పెంచుకుంటారు; ఆపై వారివలన రాజుకు ఏ విధమైన భయం కలుగుతుందో, అది నీవే చూచి తెలుసుకో।
