अव्यक्त–प्रकृति–इन्द्रियविचारः

The Unmanifest, Prakṛtis, and the Sense-Complex

मरणं जन्मनि प्रोक्ते जन्म वै मरणाश्रितम्‌ | अविद्दान्‌ मोक्षधर्मेषु बद्धो भ्रमति चक्रवत्‌ । बुद्धिमार्गप्रयातस्य सुखं त्विह परत्र च,जन्ममें मृत्युकी स्थिति बतायी गयी है और मृत्युमें जन्म निहित है। जो मोक्ष-धर्मको नहीं जानता, वह अज्ञानी मनुष्य संसारमें आबद्ध होकर जन्म-मृत्युके चक्रमें घूमता रहता है; किंतु ज्ञानमार्गसे चलनेवालेको इहलोक और परलोकमें भी सुख मिलता है

maraṇaṃ janmani prokte janma vai maraṇāśritam | avidvān mokṣadharmeṣu baddho bhramati cakravat || buddhimārgaprayātasya sukhaṃ tv iha paratra ca ||

జన్మంలోనే మరణం ప్రకటించబడింది; మరణంపైనే జన్మ ఆధారపడింది. మోక్షధర్మాలను తెలియని అజ్ఞాని బంధితుడై చక్రంలా జనన–మరణ పరిభ్రమణంలో తిరుగుతాడు; కానీ బుద్ధిమార్గంలో నడిచేవాడు ఇహలోకంలోనూ పరలోకంలోనూ శ్రేయస్సును పొందుతాడు.

Ignorance of mokṣa-dharma keeps a person bound to saṃsāra, endlessly revolving through birth and death; discernment (buddhi) and the liberating path bring well-being in this life and beyond.

In Śānti Parva’s instruction on liberation, the sage Parāśara teaches that birth and death are mutually implicated and that only knowledge of mokṣa-oriented dharma frees one from cyclical wandering.
