वृत्ति-सत्सङ्ग-दान-धर्म

भीष्म उवाच शृणु राजन्‌ ज्वरस्येमं सम्भवं लोकविश्रुतम्‌ । विस्तरं चास्य वक्ष्यामि यादृशश्वैव भारत,भीष्मजीने कहा--राजन! ज्वरकी उत्पत्तिका यह वृत्तान्त सम्पूर्ण लोकोंमें प्रसिद्ध है, सुनो। भारत! यह प्रसंग जैसा है, उसे मैं विस्तारपूर्वक बता रहा हूँ

bhīṣma uvāca śṛṇu rājan jvarasyemaṃ sambhavaṃ lokaviśrutam | vistaraṃ cāsya vakṣyāmi yādṛśaś caiva bhārata ||

భీష్ముడు అన్నాడు— రాజా! జ్వరోత్పత్తి యొక్క ఈ వృత్తాంతం లోకాలన్నిటిలో ప్రసిద్ధమైనది; విను. భారతా! ఇది జరిగిన విధంగా నేనే నీకు విస్తారంగా వివరిస్తాను.
