Yudhiṣṭhira’s Remorse and Vyāsa’s Teaching on Impermanence (Śoka-nivāraṇa)

संयोगा विप्रयोगान्ता मरणान्तं हि जीवितम्‌ । सम्पूर्ण संग्रहोंका अन्त विनाश है, सारी उन्नतियोंका अन्त पतन है, संयोगोंका अन्त वियोग है और जीवनका अन्त मरण है

saṃyogā viprayogāntā maraṇāntaṃ hi jīvitam |

సంయోగానికి అంతం వియోగమే; జీవితం అంతం మరణమే. సంగ్రహానికి అంతం క్షయమే; అభ్యుదయానికి అంతం పతనమే—కాబట్టి నశ్వరమైన వాటికి ఆసక్తి పెట్టక, ధర్మంలోనే నిలిచి నడుచుకొనుము.
