शक्र (Śakra/Indra)

Educational Q&A

The verse teaches disciplined sexual ethics: emission/sexual activity should not occur in improper places (public/exposed), with animals, in unsuitable or forbidden unions, or on sacred/festival occasions. Restraint and propriety are presented as dharmic standards.

Śakra (Indra) is describing a normative code of conduct attributed to exemplary people: they did not approve of indiscriminate sexual release, emphasizing regulation by place, partner, and time as part of righteous living.
