Adhyāya 2: Nārada’s Disclosure—Karṇa’s Training and the Brahmin’s Curse (Śānti-parva)
ब्र्मास्त्रं वेत्तुमिच्छामि सरहस्यनिवर्तनम् । अर्जुनेन समं चाहं युध्येयमिति मे मति:,“गुरुदेव! मैं ब्रह्मासत्रको उसके छोड़ने और लौटानेके रहस्यसहित जानना चाहता हूँ। मेरी इच्छा है कि मैं अर्जुनके साथ युद्ध करूँ। निश्चय ही आपका सभी शिष्यों और पुत्रपर बराबर स्नेह है। आपकी कृपासे विद्वान् पुरुष यह न कहें कि यह सभी अस्त्रोंका ज्ञाता नहीं है!
brahmāstraṁ vettum icchāmi sa-rahasya-nivartanam | arjunena samaṁ cāhaṁ yudhyeyam iti me matiḥ |
నారదుడు అన్నాడు— “గురుదేవా! బ్రహ్మాస్త్రాన్ని దాని ప్రయోగం మరియు ఉపసంహరణ రహస్యంతో సహా నేర్చుకోవాలని కోరుతున్నాను. అర్జునునితో సమంగా యుద్ధం చేయగలననే నా సంకల్పం. మీ స్నేహం శిష్యులపైనా, కుమారునిపైనా సమానమే; కాబట్టి కృపచేసి ఈ విద్యను ప్రసాదించండి—పండితులు ‘ఇతడు సర్వాస్త్రవేత్త కాదు’ అని అనకూడదు.”
