कपोत-लुब्धकसंवादः — Hunter’s Remorse and Renunciatory Resolve
पार्श्वत: करणं प्राज्ञो विष्टम्भित्वा प्रकारयेत् । जनस्तच्चरितं धर्म विजानात्यन्यथान्यथा,बुद्धिमान् पुरुष विचार करते समय पहले अपने प्रत्येक कार्यको गुप्त रखकर उसे प्रारम्भ करे; फिर उसे सर्वत्र प्रकाशित करे; अन्यथा उसके द्वारा आचरणमें लाये हुए धर्मको लोग किसी और ही रूपमें समझने लगते हैं
pārśvataḥ karaṇaṃ prājño viṣṭambhitvā prakārayet | janas tac-caritaṃ dharmaṃ vijānāty anyathānyathā ||
బుద్ధిమంతుడు తన కార్యాన్ని మొదట జాగ్రత్తగా, గోప్యంగా, పక్కనుండి రక్షణ/ఆధారం కల్పిస్తూ ప్రారంభించి, తరువాత తగిన వేళ బహిర్గతం చేయాలి. లేకపోతే అతని ఆచరణలోని ధర్మాన్ని ప్రజలు ఎన్నో విధాలుగా—చాలాసార్లు తప్పుగా—అర్థం చేసుకుంటారు.
