राजा शत्रुंजयो नाम सौवीरेषु महारथ: । भारद्वाजमुपागम्य पप्रच्छार्थविनिश्चवयम्‌

Transliteration

rājā śatruñjayo nāma sauvīreṣu mahārathaḥ | bhāradvājam upāgamya papracchārtha-viniścayam ||

Translation

సౌవీర దేశంలో శత్రుంజయుడు అనే మహారథి రాజు ఉండేవాడు. అతడు భారద్వాజుని సమీపించి, తన కర్తవ్యంపై నిశ్చయాన్ని తెలుసుకోవడానికి ప్రశ్నించాడు.
