Adhyāya 115: On Restraint Under Verbal Provocation in the Assembly (सभायां आक्रोश-सहिष्णुता)

प्रत्युच्यमानस्त्वभि भूय एभि- निशाम्य मा भूस्त्वमथार्तरूप: । उच्चस्य नीचेन हि सम्प्रयोगं विगर्हयन्ति स्थिरबुद्धयों ये

pratyucyamānas tv abhi bhūya ebhir niśāmya mā bhūs tvam athārtarūpaḥ | uccasya nīcena hi samprayogaṁ vigarhayanti sthirabuddhayo ye ||

భీష్ముడు పలికెను—ఇలాంటి దుష్టులు పదేపదే దూసుకొచ్చి నిందించుచుండగా, అది విని సజ్జనుడు ప్రత్యుత్తరం ఇవ్వబోయినచో, అతనిని ఆపి—“నీవు దుఃఖించకు; బాధితుడవు కావద్దు” అని చెప్పవలెను. ఎందుకంటే స్థిరబుద్ధులు, ఉన్నతునికి నీచునితో కలయికను—సమానత్వంలా—నిందిస్తారు.
