This line is not a teaching verse but a colophon: it signals the completion of a chapter within the Rājadharma instructions of Śānti Parva, framing Bhīṣma’s discourse on ethical kingship and governance.
The narrative pauses to mark a formal textual boundary: the end of the chapter titled ‘Kālaka-vṛkṣīya’ within Śānti Parva’s Rājadharma instruction section, where Bhīṣma is the principal instructor.
