भीष्म उवाच जयित्र्या यानि रूपाणि भवन्ति भरतर्षभ । पृतनाया: प्रशस्तानि तानि वक्ष्यामि सर्वश:,भीष्मजीने कहा--भरतभूषण! विजय पानेवाली सेनाके समक्ष जो-जो शुभ लक्षण प्रकट होते हैं, उन सबका वर्णन करता हूँ, सुनो

bhīṣma uvāca | jayitryā yāni rūpāṇi bhavanti bharatarṣabha | pṛtanāyāḥ praśastāni tāni vakṣyāmi sarvaśaḥ ||

భీష్ముడు పలికెను—ఓ భరతశ్రేష్ఠా! విజయాన్ని పొందబోయే సేన ముందర కనిపించే శుభలక్షణాలు, యుద్ధసిద్ధిని సూచించే ప్రశంసనీయ సంకేతాలు—అవి అన్నింటినీ నేను సమగ్రంగా వివరిస్తాను.
