जनकस्य युद्धोपदेशः — Janaka’s Instruction on Steadfast Battle-Conduct
शूरबाहुषु लोको<यं लम्बते पुत्रवत् सदा | तस्मात् सर्वास्ववस्थासु शूर: सम्मानमर्हति
śūrabāhuṣu loko ’yaṃ lambate putravat sadā | tasmāt sarvāsv avasthāsu śūraḥ sammānam arhati ||
భీష్ముడు పలికెను—పుత్రుడు ఎల్లప్పుడూ తండ్రిపై ఆధారపడినట్లే, ఈ సమస్త లోకం శూరుని భుజాలపై నిలిచి ఉంది. అందుచేత అన్ని పరిస్థితులలోనూ వీరుడు గౌరవానికి అర్హుడు.
