Duryodhana’s Post-Duel Lament and Instructions (भग्नसक्थस्य विलापः)
तत एनां महाबाहु: केशव: शोककर्शिताम्
tata enāṃ mahābāhuḥ keśavaḥ śokakarśitām
అప్పుడు మహాబాహువు కేశవుడు శోకంతో క్షీణించిన ఆమెను (గాంధారీని) ఉద్దేశించి పలికాడు.

Even amid the devastation of war, dharma includes compassionate attention to those overwhelmed by grief; the narrative frames Kṛṣṇa/Keśava as one who responds to suffering with purposeful speech rather than indifference.
The narrator (Vaiśampāyana) states that Keśava, described as mighty-armed, turns to address a woman who has been physically and emotionally worn down by sorrow, setting up a consoling or instructive reply.
