कर्णश्र निहतः संख्ये तव शीलानुवर्तक: । भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण बोले--गान्धारीनन्दन! तुमने पापके रास्तेपर पैर रखा था; इसीलिये तुम भाई
karṇaś ca nihataḥ saṅkhye tava śīlānuvartakaḥ | yācyamānaṃ mayā mūḍha pitryam aṃśaṃ na ditsasi ||
వాయువు అన్నాడు—కర్ణుడూ యుద్ధంలో హతుడయ్యాడు; ఎందుకంటే అతడు నీ స్వభావాన్నే అనుసరించేవాడు. నీవు మూర్ఖుడవై, నేను వేడుకున్నప్పటికీ, న్యాయంగా ఇవ్వవలసిన పితృభాగాన్ని ఇవ్వలేదు.
