Śalya’s Consecration as Senāpati and Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel to Yudhiṣṭhira (शल्यस्य सेनापत्यभिषेकः)

एन॑ सेनापतिं कृत्वा नृपतिं नृपसत्तम | शक्य: प्राप्तुं जयो<स्माभिदेंवै: स्कन्‍्दमिवाजितम्‌,नृपश्रेष्ठ जैसे देवताओंने किसीसे पराजित न होनेवाले स्कन्दको सेनापति बनाकर असुरोंपर विजय प्राप्त की थी, उसी प्रकार हमलोग भी इन राजा शल्यको सेनापति बनाकर शत्रुओंपर विजय प्राप्त कर सकते हैं

sañjaya uvāca |

enaṁ senāpatiṁ kṛtvā nṛpatiṁ nṛpasattama |

śakyaḥ prāptuṁ jayo ’smābhir devaiḥ skandam ivājitam ||

సంజయుడు అన్నాడు— “రాజశ్రేష్ఠా! ఈ రాజును సేనాపతిగా నియమిస్తే మేము కూడా విజయం పొందగలం—దేవతలు అజేయుడైన స్కందుని సేనాపతిగా చేసి విజయం పొందినట్లే.”
