Vasiṣṭhāpavāha: Sarasvatī’s Diversion and Viśvāmitra’s Curse (वसिष्ठापवाहः)
ददौ कामान् ब्राह्मुणेभ्यो यान् यान् यो मनसेच्छति । शक्तिशाली राजा ययाति जब वहाँ यज्ञ कर रहे थे, उस समय उनकी उत्कृष्ट उदारताको दृष्टिमें रखकर और अपने प्रति उनकी सनातन भक्ति देख सरस्वतीने उस यज्ञमें आये हुए ब्राह्मणोंको, जिसने अपने मनसे जिन-जिन भोगोंको चाहा, वे सभी मनोवांछित भोग प्रदान किये

వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—శక్తిమంతుడైన రాజు యయాతి యజ్ఞం నిర్వహిస్తున్న సమయంలో, అతని అసాధారణ దానశీలతను గమనించి, తన పట్ల అతనికి ఉన్న శాశ్వత భక్తిని చూచి, సరస్వతి ఆ యజ్ఞానికి వచ్చిన బ్రాహ్మణులకు ప్రతి ఒక్కరి మనసులో కోరుకున్న కోరుకులన్నిటినీ—అన్ని మనోవాంఛిత భోగాలను—ప్రదానం చేసింది।
