त॑ हत्वा वै भवान् राजा हतो वा स्वर्गमाप्रुहि । ऋते च जीवितादू वीर युद्धे कि कर्म ते प्रियम्
taṁ hatvā vai bhavān rājā hato vā svargam āpnuyāt | ṛte ca jīvitād vīra yuddhe kiṁ karma te priyam ||
యుధిష్ఠిరుడు అన్నాడు—ఆ ఒక్కనిని వధిస్తే నీవు రాజవుతావు; లేక నీవే హతుడైతే స్వర్గాన్ని పొందుతావు. ఓ వీరా, ప్రాణరక్షణ తప్ప ఈ యుద్ధంలో నీకు మరే ప్రియ కార్యం ఉంది—మేము నీకోసం చేయవలసింది?
