Educational Q&A

The verse underscores kṣatriya-dharma: when the decisive moment arrives, one should not evade confrontation but meet it openly. Yudhiṣṭhira frames the encounter as a matter of duty and honor—having sought the opponent, the proper course is to stand and fight rather than hide or delay.

In the Shalya Parva’s climactic phase, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Suyodhana (Duryodhana), stating that the Pāṇḍavas have rested and have been searching for him for a long time. He calls on Duryodhana to rise and engage in battle on the spot, signaling the imminent final confrontation.
