अध्याय ९ — दुर्योधनस्य अन्त्यावस्था, विलापः, तथा सौप्तिक-प्रतिवृत्तम्

Duryodhana’s Final Condition, Lamentation, and the Night’s Report

कृते प्रतिकृतं पश्य हतपुत्रा हि पाण्डवा: । सौप्तिके शिबिरं तेषां हतं सनरवाहनम्‌,“राजन! देखिये, शत्रुओंकी करनीका कैसा बदला चुकाया गया? पाण्डवोंके भी सारे पुत्र मार डाले गये। रातमें सोते समय मनुष्यों और वाहनोंसहित उनके सारे शिविरका नाश कर दिया गया

kṛte pratikṛtaṃ paśya hataputrā hi pāṇḍavāḥ | sauptike śibiraṃ teṣāṃ hataṃ sanaravāhanam ||

సంజయుడు అన్నాడు— “రాజా! చేసినదానికి ప్రతిచేసినదెట్లా జరిగిందో చూడు. పాండవులూ కుమారహీనులయ్యారు. రాత్రి దాడిలో, వారు నిద్రలో ఉండగానే, మనుష్యులు మరియు వాహనాలతో కూడిన వారి శిబిరమంతా నాశనమైంది.”
