Duryodhana’s Final Condition, Lamentation, and the Night’s Report
kṛpasya tava vīryeṇa mama caiva pituś ca me

The line underscores how outcomes in a crisis are attributed to the combined agency of capable individuals—especially trusted elders like Kṛpa—alongside one’s own effort and familial support. Ethically, it reflects the epic’s recurring emphasis on responsibility and the weight of counsel and competence in the wake of war.
Sañjaya, reporting to Dhṛtarāṣṭra in the Sauptika Parva, begins a statement crediting certain results to the prowess of Kṛpa, together with his own and his father’s. The verse as given is a partial line that likely continues in the next pāda(s) to complete the thought.
