Sauptika Parva, Adhyaya 8 — Dhṛṣṭadyumna-vadha and the Camp’s Nocturnal Rout
सुतसोमस्य सासिं त॑ बाहुं छित्त्वा नरर्षभ । पुनरप्याहनत् पाश्वें स भिन्नहृदयो5पतत्
Sutasomasya sāsiṃ taṃ bāhuṃ chittvā nararṣabha | punar apy āhanat pārśve sa bhinnahṛdayo 'patat ||
సంజయుడు పలికెను—హే నరశ్రేష్ఠా! అశ్వత్థాముడు సుతసోముని ఖడ్గంతో కూడిన భుజాన్ని నరికివేసి, మరల అతని ప్రక్కభాగమున బలంగా కొట్టెను. హృదయ-వక్షస్థలం చీలిపోవగా సుతసోముడు నేలపై కూలిపోయెను.
