अन्योन्यं सम्परिष्वज्य शयानान् द्रवतो5परान् | संलीनान् युद्धयमानांश्व सर्वान् द्रौणिरपोथयत्
anyonyam sampariṣvajya śayānān dravatoparān | saṃlīnān yuddhayamānāṃś ca sarvān drauṇir apothayat ||
కొంతమంది పరస్పరం ఆలింగనం చేసుకొని పడివున్నారు; మరికొందరు భయంతో పరుగెత్తుతున్నారు; ఇంకొందరు దాగివున్నారు, మరికొందరు యుద్ధం చేయాలని ప్రయత్నిస్తున్నారు—ద్రోణపుత్రుడు అశ్వత్థాముడు వారందరినీ సంహరించాడు.
