Educational Q&A

Even when circumstances are unjust, adherence to one’s pledged word and acceptance of consequences are presented as a severe test of dharma; the transition to exile highlights restraint, accountability, and the long moral arc that follows unethical play.

This is a concluding colophon stating that the chapter dealing with Yudhishthira’s departure to the forest—within the Anudyuta section of the Sabha Parva—has ended, marking the narrative shift from courtly power to exile.
