Adhyāya 31: Rājasūya-samāgama — The Gathering of Kings and the Ordering of Hospitality
एवमनिनिवररं प्रादात् स्त्रीणामप्रतिवारणे । वरिण्यस्तत्र नार्यो हि यथेष्टं विचरन्त्युत,अग्निदेवने स्त्रियोंके लिये यह वर दे दिया था कि अपने प्रतिकूल होनेके कारण ही कोई स्त्रियोंको वरका स्वयं ही वरण करनेसे रोक नहीं सकता। इससे वहाँकी स्त्रियाँ स्वेच्छापूर्वक वरका वरण करनेके लिये विचरण किया करती थीं
evam anivāraṇaṁ prādāt strīṇām aprativāraṇe | variṇyas tatra nāryo hi yatheṣṭaṁ vicaranty uta ||
ఇలా (అగ్ని) స్త్రీలకు అడ్డంకిలేని వరాన్ని ప్రసాదించెను—ఎవ్వరూ వారిని నిరోధించలేరు. అందుచేత అక్కడి స్త్రీలు తమ ఇష్టానుసారంగా సంచరించి, తామే వరుణ్ని ఎన్నుకొనుచుండిరి.
