(कथं जित्वा पुनर्यूयमस्मान्‌ सम्प्रति यास्यथ ।) अस्मिंस्त्वर्थान्तिरे युक्तमनर्थ: प्रतिपद्यते तस्मान्न प्रतिपत्तिस्तु कार्या युक्ता मता मम,आपलोग किस प्रकार उसे जीतकर फिर हमारे पास लौट सकेंगे? यह कार्य हमारे लिये इष्ट फलके विपरीत फल देनेवाला जान पड़ता है। इसमें लगे हुए मनुष्यको निश्चय ही अनर्थकी प्राप्ति होती है। इसलिये अबतक हम जिसे करना चाहते थे, उस राजसूययज्ञकी ओर ध्यान देना उचित नहीं जान पड़ता

యుధిష్ఠిరుడు అన్నాడు— మీరు అతన్ని జయించి మళ్లీ మా వద్దకు ఎలా తిరిగి వస్తారు? ఈ ప్రయత్నం మనకు కావలసిన ఫలానికి విరుద్ధమైన ఫలాన్ని ఇస్తుందనిపిస్తోంది. ఇలాంటి భిన్న మార్గంలో చిక్కుకున్నవాడికి తప్పక అనర్థమే కలుగుతుంది. అందుచేత, మనం ఉద్దేశించిన రాజసూయ యజ్ఞం వైపు ఇప్పుడు ముందుకు సాగడం నా దృష్టిలో యుక్తం కాదు.
