वृष्णियोधाश्ष ते सर्वे गजाश्वरथयोधिन: । न शेकुरावर्तयितुं ह्वियमाणं च तं जनम्,हाथी, घोड़े और रथपर बैठकर युद्ध करनेवाले समस्त वृष्णिसैनिक भी उन डाकुओंके हाथमें पड़े हुए अपने मनुष्योंको लौटा न सके
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
vṛṣṇi-yodhāś ca te sarve gajāśva-ratha-yodhinaḥ |
na śekur āvartayituṃ hriyamāṇaṃ ca taṃ janam ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—ఏనుగులు, గుర్రాలు, రథాలపై యుద్ధం చేసే ఆ వృష్ణి యోధులందరూ, దోపిడీదారులు అపహరిస్తున్న తమ జనులను తిరిగి తెచ్చుకోలేకపోయారు.
