मत्वा55त्मानं त्वपराद्धं स तस्य पादौ जरा जगृहे शंकितात्मा | आश्चासयंस्तं महात्मा तदानीं गच्छन्ूर्थध्व रोदसी व्याप्य लक्ष्म्या,अब तो जरा अपनेको अपराधी मानकर मन-ही-मन बहुत डर गया। उसने भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णके दोनों पैर पकड़ लिये। तब महात्मा श्रीकृष्णने उसे आश्वासन दिया और अपनी कान्तिसे पृथ्वी एवं आकाशको व्याप्त करते हुए वे ऊर्ध्वलोकमें (अपने परमधामको) चले गये

matvā ātmānaṁ tv aparāddhaṁ sa tasya pādau jarā jagṛhe śaṅkitātmā | āśvāsayaṁs taṁ mahātmā tadānīṁ gacchan ūrdhvaṁ rodasī vyāpya lakṣmyā ||

తాను అపరాధం చేశానని భావించి జరా భయాక్రాంతుడై శ్రీకృష్ణుని పాదాలను పట్టుకున్నాడు. అప్పుడు మహాత్ముడు కృష్ణుడు అతనికి అభయమిచ్చి ఓదార్చాడు; తన తేజస్సుతో భూమ్యాకాశాలను వ్యాపింపజేస్తూ ఆయన ఊర్ధ్వలోకంలోని పరమధామానికి వెళ్లిపోయాడు.

After realizing his mistake, the hunter Jara fearfully grasps Kṛṣṇa’s feet; Kṛṣṇa consoles him and then departs upward, pervading earth and sky with his radiance as he goes to his supreme realm.
