स एवमुक्तो युधि सूतपुत्र- स्तमब्रवीत्‌ को भवानुग्ररूप: । नागोअब्रवीद्‌ विद्धि कृतागसं मां पार्थेन मातुर्वधजातवैरम्‌

sa evam ukto yudhi sūtaputraḥ tam abravīt ko bhavān ugrarūpaḥ | nāgo 'bravīd viddhi kṛtāgasaṃ māṃ pārthena mātur vadhajātavairam ||

సంజయుడు అన్నాడు— యుద్ధంలో అలా పలికిన వానిని సూతపుత్రుడు కర్ణుడు అడిగాడు: “నీవెవరు, ఇంత ఉగ్రరూపుడవు?” నాగుడు అన్నాడు: “నన్ను అపరాధిగా తెలుసుకో; పార్థుడు నా తల్లిని సంహరించాడు, ఆ వధం నుంచే నా వైరం పుట్టింది.”
