Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how anger (krodha) intensifies violence and narrows judgment in war: prowess becomes relentless and precise, aimed at disabling the opponent. Ethically, it reflects the Mahābhārata’s recurring tension between kṣatriya duty in battle and the corrosive force of wrath that can eclipse restraint.

Sañjaya reports that Bhīma, furious on the battlefield, showers Karṇa (Rādheya) with ninety specially described arrows and pierces him at the neck region, marking a fierce exchange in the Karṇa Parva battle sequence.
