मृत्योरास्य॑ व्यात्तमिवाभिपद्य प्रभद्रका: कर्णमासाद्य राजन् । रथांस्तु तान् सप्तशतान् निमग्नां- स्तदा कर्ण: प्राहिणोन्मृत्युसझ
mṛtyor āsyaṁ vyāttam ivābhipadya prabhadrakāḥ karṇam āsādya rājan | rathāṁs tu tān saptśatān nimagnāṁs tadā karṇaḥ prāhiṇon mṛtyulokaṁ rājan ||
రాజా, ప్రభద్రకులు మరణదేవుని విప్పిన నోటిలోకి దూకినట్లుగా కర్ణుని మీదికి పరిగెత్తి వచ్చి ఘోర అపాయంలో పడ్డారు. అప్పుడు కర్ణుడు యుద్ధసముద్రంలో మునిగినట్లున్న ఆ ఏడు వందల రథయోధులను తక్షణమే మృత్యులోకానికి పంపించాడు।
