Educational Q&A

The verse underscores the moral and practical fallout of war: when a cause is weakened by adharma and arrogance, even a large force can collapse into panic. It also highlights how violence inevitably yields suffering, visible here as blood and flight.

Sañjaya reports that Bhīma’s fierce archery has wounded the Kaurava troops; they break formation, turn away from battle, and flee rapidly, bleeding from their injuries.
