अर्जुनस्य शीघ्रप्रयाणं भीम-शकुनियुद्धं च

वर्तमाने तथा रौद्रे राजन् वीरवरक्षये । उत्थितान्यगणेयानि कबन्धानि समन्ततः,राजन! जब बड़े-बड़े वीरोंका विनाश करनेवाला वह भीषण संग्राम हो रहा था, उस समय चारों ओर असंख्य कबन्ध खड़े दिखायी देते थे
vartamāne tathā raudre rājan vīravarakṣaye | utthitāny agaṇeyāni kabandhāni samantataḥ ||
సంజయుడు పలికెను—రాజా! మహావీరుల వినాశనకరమైన ఆ భయంకర సంగ్రామం జరుగుతుండగా, చుట్టూ లెక్కలేనన్ని కబంధాలు (శిరస్సులేని ధడాలు) లేచి నిలిచినట్లు కనిపించెను।
