तदभूत् तुमुल॑ युद्ध वृष्णिपार्षतयो रणे । आमिषार्थे यथा युद्ध श्येनयो: क्रुद्धयोर्नुप,नरेश्वर! जैसे मांसके टुकड़ेके लिये दो बाज क्रोधपूर्वक लड़ रहे हों, उसी प्रकार उस रणक्षेत्रमें कृतवर्मा और धृष्टद्युम्नका घोर युद्ध होने लगा
tad abhūt tumulaṁ yuddhaṁ vṛṣṇipārṣatayor raṇe | āmiṣārthe yathā yuddhaṁ śyenayoḥ kruddhayor nṛpa-nareśvara ||
నరేశ్వరా! రణభూమిలో వృష్ణి మరియు పార్షతుల మధ్య ఘోరమైన కలకల యుద్ధం చెలరేగింది. మాంసపు ముక్క కోసం కోపంతో రెండు గద్దలు పోరాడినట్లే, ఆ భయంకర ద్వంద్వం మండింది.
