अर्जुनस्य द्रोणिप्रतिघातः कर्णोपसर्पणं च

कृतो जिधघांसु: शैनेयं खड्गचर्मधृगभ्ययात् । इस प्रकार रणक्षेत्रमें युयुधानके द्वारा सारथि
sañjaya uvāca | kṛto jighāṃsuḥ śaineyaṃ khaḍgacarmadhṛg abhyayāt |
సంజయుడు పలికెను—శైనేయుని సంహరించుటకు సంకల్పించి అతడు ఖడ్గము, కవచఢాలము ధరించి అతని వైపు దూసుకెళ్లెను. యుద్ధభూమిలో యుయుధానుడు వృషసేనుని సారథి, అశ్వములు, రథధ్వజము లేనివాడిగా చేసెను; అందువల్ల వృషసేనుడు రెండు ఘటికల కాలము తన రథముపై శిథిలుడై, స్థంభించినవాడివలె కూర్చుండెను. ఆపై మళ్లీ లేచి, సాత్యకిని చంపాలనే కోరికతో ఢాలము-ఖడ్గము పట్టుకొని ముందుకు సాగెను.
