कर्णभीमसमागमः | Karṇa–Bhīma Encounter
यथासुराश्च निहता इषुणैकेन भारत | शल्यने कहा--भारत! नरश्रेष्ठ! मैंने भी देवश्रेष्ठ ब्रह्मा और महादेवजीके इस अलौकिक एवं दिव्य उपाख्यानको दिद्दवानोंके मुखसे सुना है कि किस प्रकार प्रपितामह ब्रह्माजीने महादेवजीका सारथि-कर्म किया था और कैसे एक ही बाणसे समस्त असुर मारे गये ।।
yathāsurāś ca nihatā iṣuṇaikena bhārata | kṛṣṇasya cāpi viditaṃ sarvam etat purābhūt ||
శల్యుడు పలికెను—ఓ భారతా! పూర్వం ఒక్క బాణంతో అసురులు నిహతులైనట్లే, ఈ సమస్త ప్రాచీన ఉపాఖ్యానం కృష్ణునికీ ముందే తెలిసినదే. జ్ఞానుల నోట వినిన ఆ అద్భుత దివ్య పరంపరాకథను నేను విన్నాను—ప్రపితామహుడు బ్రహ్మదేవుడు మహాదేవునికి సారథ్యకర్మ చేసిన విధమును, ఒక్క ఆయుధంతో అసురసమూహం ఎలా పడిపోయిందో.
