उक्तो5सि बहुधा राजन्‌ मा युध्यस्वेति पापडवै: । गृह्नीषे न च तनन्‍्मोहाद्‌ वचनं च विशाम्पते,राजन! पाण्डवोंने तो आपसे बारंबार कहा था कि “आप युद्ध न छेड़िये।” किन्तु प्रजानाथ! आपने मोहवश उनकी बात नहीं मानी इति श्रीमहाभारते कर्णपर्वणि कर्णदुर्योधनसंवादे एकत्रिंशो5ध्याय:

ukto ’si bahudhā rājan mā yudhyasveti pāṇḍavaiḥ | gṛhṇīṣe na ca tan-mohād vacanaṃ ca viśāṃpate ||

సంజయుడు పలికెను—రాజా! పాండవులు నీతో ఎన్నిసార్లు చెప్పిరి—“యుద్ధం చేయవద్దు” అని. కాని ప్రజానాథా! మోహవశమున వారి మాటను నీవు స్వీకరించలేదు.
