कर्णस्य दानप्रतिज्ञा–शल्योपदेश–वाक्ययुद्धम्

हयैश्न पतितैस्तत्र नरैश्न विनिपातितै: । अगम्यरूपा पृथिवी क्षणेन समपद्यत,राजेन्द्र! टूटे हुए रथों, धराशायी हुए हाथियों, मरकर गिरे हुए घोड़ों और गिराये गये पैदल सैनिकोंसे क्षणभरमें यह पृथ्वी ऐसी हो गयी कि वहाँ चलना-फिरना असम्भव हो गया
hayaiś ca patitais tatra naraiś ca vinipātitaiḥ | agamyārūpā pṛthivī kṣaṇena samapadyata rājendra ||
సంజయుడు పలికెను—ఓ రాజా, అక్కడ పడిపోయిన గుర్రాలు, నేలకూలిన మనుష్యులు—ఇవన్నీ క్షణమాత్రంలోనే భూమిని అగమ్యమైన రూపంగా మార్చేశాయి.
