Adhyāya 18 — Sequential Duels and Formation Pressure
Ulūka–Yuyutsu; Śakuni–Sutasoma; Kṛpa–Dhṛṣṭadyumna; Kṛtavarmā–Śikhaṇḍin
साश्चपत्तिद्विपरथं महाशस्त्रौ्सम्प्लवम् | सहसा संतितीर्षन्तं पार्थ शस्त्रास्त्रसेतुना
sāśvapattidviparathaṁ mahāśastraughasamplavam | sahasā santitīrṣantaṁ pārtha śastrāstrasētunā ||
గుర్రాలు, పాదాతి, ఏనుగులు, రథాలతో నిండిపోయి, మహాశస్త్రాల ప్రవాహంతో ఉప్పొంగుతున్న ఆ సైన్యసముద్రాన్ని పార్థుడు తన అస్త్ర-శస్త్రరూప వంతెనతో సహసా దాటాలని కోరాడు. అప్పుడు శ్రీకృష్ణుడు అన్నాడు—“నిష్పాప పార్థా! ఇది ఏ క్రీడ? ముందుగా ఈ సంశప్తకులను సంహరించి, ఆపై కర్ణవధానికి త్వరగా, దృఢంగా యత్నించు.”
