Chapter 99: Sātyaki and Duḥśāsana’s engagement
महाराज! जैसे प्रकाशमान सूर्य सहस्रों किरणोंका प्रसार करते हैं, उसी प्रकार धृष्टद्युम्नने बाणसमूहोंकी वर्षा करते हुए रणक्षेत्रमें द्रोणाचार्यपर आक्रमण किया ।।
sañjaya uvāca |
mahārāja! yathā prakāśamānaḥ sūryaḥ sahasrāṇi kiraṇān prasārayati, tathā dhṛṣṭadyumnaḥ bāṇasaṃghān varṣayan raṇakṣetre droṇācāryam abhyakrāmat ||
tataḥ pravavṛte yuddhaṃ tvaratāṃ sarvadhanvinām |
kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca saṃkruddhānāṃ parasparam ||
సంజయుడు పలికెను—మహారాజా! ప్రకాశవంతమైన సూర్యుడు వేల కిరణాలను విస్తరించునట్లు, ధృష్టద్యుమ్నుడు బాణవర్షం కురిపిస్తూ యుద్ధభూమిలో ద్రోణాచార్యునిపై దాడి చేశాడు. ఆపై ఇరుపక్షాల కోపం రగిలి, కురు–పాండవ ధనుర్ధరులు పరస్పరం ఉరుకుతూ ఘోర సంగ్రామం ప్రారంభమైంది.
