निर्दस्युं पृथिवीं कृत्वा शिष्टेष्टजनसंकुलाम्‌ | कश्यपाय ददौ रामो हयमेथे महामखे,उस समय परशुरामजीने लाखों गजराजोंको सोनेके आभूषणोंसे विभूषित करके तथा पृथ्वीको चोर-डाकुओंसे सूनी और साधु पुरुषोंसे भरी-पूरी करके महायज्ञ अश्वमेधमें कश्यपजीको दे दिया

nirdasyuṁ pṛthivīṁ kṛtvā śiṣṭeṣṭa-jana-saṅkulām | kaśyapāya dadau rāmo hayametthe mahāmakhe ||

నారదుడు పలికెను—భూమిని దొంగలూ దోపిడీదారులూ లేనిదిగా చేసి, శిష్టులూ ఇష్టులూ అయిన జనులతో నింపి, రాముడు (పరశురాముడు) మహాయజ్ఞమైన అశ్వమేధంలో దానిని కశ్యపునికి దానమిచ్చెను.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical ideal that power and territory are legitimate only when aligned with dharma: the land should be protected from lawlessness and governed for the flourishing of the righteous; moreover, even after establishing order, one may relinquish possession through a sanctioned act of dāna within yajña.

Nārada recounts that Paraśurāma, after making the earth free of marauders and populated by righteous people, formally donates the earth to the sage Kaśyapa during a great Aśvamedha sacrifice.
