सनाथमिव मन्ये5हं भवता पालितं बलम् | अत्र कि नु समर्थ यद्धितं तत् सम्प्रधार्यताम्,“कर्ण! तुम्हारे द्वारा इस सेनाका संरक्षण हो रहा है, इससे मैं इसे सनाथ हुई-सी मानता हूँ। अब यहाँ हमारे लिये क्या करना उपयोगी और हितकर है, इसका निश्चय करो”
sanātham iva manye 'haṁ bhavatā pālitaṁ balam | atra kiṁ nu samarthaṁ yad dhitaṁ tat sampradhāryatām ||
సంజయుడు అన్నాడు—కర్ణా! నీవు ఈ సేనను కాపాడుతున్నావు గనుక ఇది సనాథమైనదిగా నాకు అనిపిస్తోంది. ఇప్పుడు ఇక్కడ మనకు ఏది సాధ్యం, ఏది హితకరం—దానిని బాగా ఆలోచించి నిర్ణయించు.
