Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the Lord as varada (giver of boons) and depicts his auspicious companionship with Pārvatī and his attendants. Ethically, it suggests that divine grace and devotion remain accessible and stabilizing even when the surrounding narrative is dominated by conflict and uncertainty.

Vyāsa describes a vision/scene of the Lord (implicitly Śiva) on a broad, beautiful mountain, accompanied by Pārvatī, engaged in sportive divine activity, and surrounded by hosts of bhūtas and gaṇas—an image of sovereign power and auspiciousness.
